Beauty Obsession and Pageants in Venezuela

Society’s obsession with beauty pageants and plastic surgery was the focus for this project during a recent trip to Venezuela. My approach was ‘what women endure to look beautiful’ in the predominantly male dominated society of Latin America. I want to expose the raw reality of a process that women go
through. Is this process a life choice made by these women or is it an expectation placed upon them by society?
